Registered Charity No: 286614 (England & Wales).

Calibre Audio Library is a subscription-free lending service that provides recorded books for people with visual impairment, dyslexia and other disabilities which prevent them reading print.

The charity brings the pleasure of reading to over 16,000 members, many of whom are elderly and housebound, with a wide selection of 8,500 unabridged books available on memory sticks, CDs or via streaming. These include some of the latest best sellers in fiction and non-fiction. The Young Calibre selection for under-16's contains 1,500 titles for reading enjoyment. So whether people like family stories, military history or are looking for the latest Jacqueline Wilson's children's title, Calibre's friendly, easy-to-use service provides great reading.

We receive no government funding for our work and welcome people's generosity to support this much valued service, frequently described by members as their "lifeline".

A legacy gift can make a huge difference:

• £30 would cover the cost of despatching 10 books
• £400 enables us to record one new book
• £1,500 pays for 23 people to receive our service for one year
• £50,000 allows us to convert 500 books for our digital service
