Ash Rescue Centre: Supporting Animals, People and Nature.
Based near Dartmouth, South Devon, Ash Rescue Centre is a registered Charity dedicated to improving the lives of animals, people and the natural environment through its unique One Welfare approach.
Since 2013, the Charity has developed more than 100 acres of conservation land, creating wildflower meadows, species rich grasslands, hedgerows, native woodland and wildlife ponds. This thriving habitat encourages and supports the return of native species, while providing a lifetime home to rescued elderly horses. Many arrive following a history of hard work, neglect or abuse, and are given the chance to spend their later years grazing peacefully in herds, enjoying companionship, freedom and the care they deserve. As conservation grazers, they also play an important role in maintaining the meadows and grasslands, helping nature and them to flourish.
Alongside its Conservation work Ash Rescue Centre provides a vital wildlife rescue and rehabilitation service, caring for injured, orphaned and vulnerable wildlife. This includes Birds of Prey, Swans, Foxes, Song birds, Corvids and all Sea birds. Once recovered the animals are released back into the wild.
The Charity offers year round volunteering opportunities for people 18 years and over, helping them connect with animals and nature. These experiences can support wellbeing, reduce isolation and improve mental health, creating meaningful opportunities for people to feel valued and connected.
