We’ve made huge progress in recent decades. More people are surviving breast cancer than ever before, but there’s still so much more to do. Breast cancer still takes and rips apart far too many lives. 1 in 7 women in the UK will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. And it’s the biggest killer of working-age women in the UK*.
That’s why we need to fund more life-saving research, so no one dies of breast cancer in the future. We need to be here with life-changing support, so no one has to face breast cancer alone. And we need to run change-making campaigns, so everyone with breast cancer can live and live well.
*’Working age’ defined as 20-64. In Scotland and Wales, heart disease slightly overtakes, but breast cancer is still one of the top killers.
