Registered Charity No: 1064274 (England & Wales).
Access to legal advice can change someone’s life; helping them protect their home, secure their income or challenge injustices. But for people who cannot afford a lawyer, knowing where to turn can be hard.
LawWorks (the Solicitors Pro Bono Group) is a charity working across England and Wales to close that gap, connecting people with lawyers willing to volunteer.
Through our Clinics Programme, we support the development of over 300 independent legal advice clinics, but we want to support access to justice in every area of law.
That is why our Not-for-Profits Programme also connects small charities with free advice, helping them resolve problems that could threaten the services their communities rely on. We also widen access to free legal advice through projects such as Secondary Specialisation, Free Legal Answers and Pro Bono Connect.
Growing this work requires effort. Every clinic needs training, guidance and coordination behind it, and every volunteer needs support to advise with confidence. Reaching new areas of law means building partnerships from the ground up. Meanwhile, demand keeps rising, and meeting it takes resources we do not yet have.
That is where your support matters. A donation or a gift in your will gives us the means to train more volunteers, open new clinics and meet growing demand, so more people facing a crisis can have a lawyer beside them.
