Registered Charity No: 1000388 (England & Wales)

A national centre of expertise for young people (age 16-25) with visual impairment, RNC is a specialist residential further education college providing a broad academic curriculum, underpinned by life skills training.

The RNC experience is more than vocational and academic qualifications. Each student has a bespoke education plan to maximise their time with us. But it’s also about achievement beyond the classroom - developing self-confidence, personal independence and communication skills, vital for every student’s future.

Our young people can also access a wide range of enriching extra curricular activities including Duke of Edinburgh Awards, the nationally renowned RNC Sports Academy (our Blind Football Team won the FA Disability Cup 2021) and recreational hobbies.

Our students go on to university, into employment and volunteering in their own communities and, most importantly, become independent, confident and happy adults, achieving extraordinary things. Our charity’s work is truly life changing but we need ongoing support to maintain and improve campus facilities, offer new and interesting activities to the students and keep upgrading student resources including specialist VI technology and IT.
