For the faith and in the service of humanity
St John is an international family of charities united by a simple purpose; to serve humanity. In 1070, the first hospice opened in Jerusalem to care for pilgrims. Today, as then, Christ’s teaching in the Good Samaritan, guides our volunteers and staff to promote the evolving physical, mental and spiritual health and wellbeing needs of their communities.
Today, our unique 1,000-year heritage inspires a modern humanitarian mission delivering unconditional service and evidence-based healthcare initiatives in 44 countries. In 2025, 1.7 million people received first aid or ambulance services, 1.5 million people were trained in first aid, and 2.3 million emergencies were responded to.
After providing for your family and friends, please consider leaving a gift in your will to help St John continue serving humanity with faith, compassion and practical care.
Your gift will:
- Help the Mother & Baby programme to continue providing lifesaving maternal and newborn healthcare in Sub-Saharan Africa.
- Equip the next generation of St John leaders with the resilience needed to face future challenges.
- Invest in cutting edge training for 200,000 St John volunteers and staff.
- Support our youth programmes, building the confidence and practical skills young people need to act in an emergency whilst inspiring a lifelong commitment to service.
Devote your legacy to serving humanity
