In deciding what to call ourselves, film buffs and those old enough to remember the original True Grit (1969) may recall the character Mattie Ross.

In seeking to avenge her father’s killing, she threatened the good (Rooster Cogburn), the baddies (Tom Chaney, Lucky Ned Pepper) and others with references to ‘Lawyer J. Noble Daggett Esquire’ to get her way. And successfully too. So how about plain ‘lawyer’?
