Thirteen senior lawyers at magic circle firm Clifford Chance shared £22m in the last financial year, the firm’s latest accounts have revealed.

The uptick in earnings, a 37% increase, comes off the back of a strong year for the Canary Wharf-based firm. Updated results, published on Companies House last week, confirmed that the 13 managers who make up its ‘executive leadership group’ had drawn £22m, up from £16m. The highest paid partner, who has not been named, was paid £3m.

In July, the firm announced that in the year ending 30 April 2018 it generated profit of £615m, up £83m (15%) from 2016/17. Profit per equity partner was £1.6m, an increase of 16%.

Overall turnover was £1.62bn (up 6.6%), with the UK accounting for £535m.
