International firm Mishcon de Reya has acquired City litigation boutique Davis & Co, hiring the firm’s founder Mark Davis, along with an associate and trainee solicitors. Davis, a litigator, was formerly a partner at Watson, Farley & Williams, and was one of three elected members on the firm’s management committee.

Davis has advised on a range of contractual and tortious issues across industries, including banking and financial services.

He set up Curtis Davis Garrard with two colleagues before founding his own firm, Davis & Co, in 2003. A notice on the firm’s website says the firm ceased practice on 22 April.

The team will join the firm’s dispute resolution service.

Davis said: 'My team and I are delighted to be joining Mishcon de Reya at such an exciting time in its development. We very much look forward to building upon the existing capability of the firm’s formidable dispute resolution department and to be able to offer our clients a broader range of services.’

Kasra Nouroozi, head of the dispute resolution department at Mishcon de Reya, said: ‘Mark has a proven track record of acting in some major and complex disputes in the UK and a number of foreign jurisdictions. He is a fantastic fit, and we know that he will greatly contribute to our dispute resolution offering.’
