Four lawyers have today set up a new London law firm promising to build personal relationships with clients by helping them avoid ’armies of junior associates and back office staff’.

LEVEL, set-up by four sport and entertainment lawyers whose clients include Usain Bolt and Chris Froome, has promised clients access to expert advisers without the ‘constraints’ of traditional firms.

The firm’s owners are former Couchmans partners Dan Lowen and Fraser Reid, Dan Harrington, former owner of DMC advisers, and ex-Keystone Law partner Morris Bentata.

In a statement announcing its arrival, LEVEL, which will be based in Holborn, said: ‘By embracing technology and fostering a fresh approach to servicing clients’ needs, LEVEL’s operating model enables its lawyers to focus solely on achieving results for clients, with none of the constraints and overheads associated with traditional private practice.’

It said it will have ‘acknowledged experts only’ supported by a ‘small but effective’ business development and administration team.

Lowen said: ’Clients in the sports, media and entertainment industries value the personal, one-on-one relationships we forge with them. Fundamentally, our clients are world-renowned organisations, companies, and individuals who strive every day to go above and beyond the norm: they need lawyers who do the same. What they don’t need are the usual trappings associated with traditional law firms, like an army of junior associates and back office staff.’
