I am a consultant ophthalmologist with particular expertise in Functional Neurological Disease, neuro-ophthalmology, uveitis and retinal diseases.

I graduated Sheffield University Medical School, where I defended my thesis. My Ophthalmology training was at Leeds and St Paul’s, with post-CCT fellowships at Moorfields, Wilmer and Mass Eye & Ear.

I am affiliated to universities in UK and USA. My academic work is in diagnostic logic also risk estimation & communication - especially when data is missing or bad.

I accept defendant, claimant, and joint instructions in civil litigation matters within my sphere of expertise, only if the instructing solicitor, or any agency, explicitly accept my terms of business etc (ToB) that include payments within 30 days of invoicing as contracted. I will agree alterations to the payment schedule of my terms of business only by prior agreement.

I can access a full range of diagnostic services (refraction, visual fields, photography including retinal and corneal imaging, ocular electrophysiology, orthoptics and biometry. I offer an enhanced service in the documentation of contentious or disputed visual injury.

I have provided advisory reports in professional disciplinary proceedings as well as challenges to decisions. I have acted as an advisor to the GMC and frequently provide reports for investigations by regulatory bodies including the Association of Optometrists, the Nursing and Midwifery Council, the General Optical Council, The Ombudsman and the GMC.

I advise pro-bono, otherwise my hourly rate is £400+VAT/hour,.

I quote a nominal 2.5 hours to provide advisory screenings reports, intended only to highlight or narrow issues and summarise strengths and weakness of a potential claim.

Initial reports dealing with alleged medical negligence can take between 10 - 12 hours and may take 16 hours or more. When medical records contain an excessive number of 50 pages, in will estimate additional charge, based on 1 minute per page at £400+VAT/hour.

Condition and Prognosis reports following personal injury or alleged medical negligence generally take less time depending on complexity.
