A medical negligence solicitor from south and west Wales law firm, JCP Solicitors, has been appointed as the West Wales Law Society President.

Thomas Rees, associate solicitor at JCP Solicitors, has been on the committee of the West Wales Law Society for many years, and took over the reins as president at their most recent AGM, on 7 October.

Thomas lives in Carmarthen and shares his time between the firm’s Swansea and Carmarthen office, working on challenging legal cases as part of the firm’s highly regarded medical negligence team, advising clients who are living with life-changing injuries.

JCP director and head of medical negligence Matthew Owen said: ’Here at JCP Solicitors we recognise Thomas’ skills as an associate solicitor in the complex and sensitive legal area of medical negligence and I am delighted to see him being appreciated by his peers in the West Wales Law Society with this new appointment.

’The West Wales Law Society is an important voice for the legal profession in the area and JCP Solicitors is an enthusiastic member and supporter. We are pleased to see Thomas so firmly embedded within the Society, not only representing the interests of JCP Solicitors but the interest of the profession as a whole.’
