Four outstanding graduates and two promising teenagers have taken major steps towards careers as lawyers by joining Yorkshire law firm Gordons.

Lisa Bland, Rebecca D’Arcy, Samantha Nickson and Edward Strudwick have started two-year training contracts, while Lauren Frear and Sophie Levitt comprise the fifth annual intake for the firm’s multiple award-winning apprenticeship scheme.

The trainees will now undertake four six-month seats in various Gordons departments.

During these periods, they will be supervised closely and work in tandem with expert lawyers. They will also benefit from thorough training and support, delivered by colleagues across the organisation.

Lauren and Sophie bring the number of Gordons’ apprentices to 13. The scheme admits intelligent, determined 18-year-old school-leavers, eager to pursue careers as lawyers while avoiding the time and expense of obtaining a degree, previously a pre-requisite for entry to the profession.
