AON announces its legal partners for one-stop claim shop

Broker Aon has announced that it is to partner with seven law firms that will handle or supervise all its claims in its two- to 10-partner package - Aon Claims Solutions.

Aon's partners are: Barlow Lyde & Gilbert, Beachcroft Wansboroughs, CMS Cameron McKenna, Davies Arnold Cooper, Eversheds, Reynolds Porter Chamberlain and Rowe & Maw.

Barlows, Beachcrofts and Reynolds are all on the Solicitors Indemnity Fund's law firm panel.

Martyn Roffey, chairman of Aon's professions group, said Aon wanted to offer a one-stop shop for claims handling to improve speed, efficiency and cost.

He said the firms all had specialist experience and were open to the claims-handling concept, which will include seconding solicitors to Aon.Meanwhile, insurers and brokers have backed the Law Society's Lexcel quality assurance standard as a factor in finding cheaper insurance on the open market.

The five backers are: St Paul International (the Law Society's partner), Marsh, Nelson Hurst, Hiscox Insurance and Professional Indemnity Underwriter.Brokers PYV has launched an on-line information service for solicitors - www.pyv.co.uk - advising on important market developments and to provide advice on obtaining insurance.
