As chairman of the Conveyancing Association, I am writing to lend the support of our body to the Law Society Conveyancing Quality Scheme. Members of the association, which include a significant proportion of large conveyancers, fully support and endorse all efforts to improve the legal process of conveyancing.

We are also delighted to see the public support of lenders through the Council of Mortgage Lenders. It may well be that the scheme will quickly become a prerequisite of panel membership for firms of solicitors. Certainly, any serious solicitor conveyancing firm that sees itself as retaining and expanding the practice should look carefully at becoming a member of the scheme.
