Once again the organisers of the Legal Charities Garden Party, held on the North Lawn of Lincoln’s Inn on 16 June, are greatly indebted to the Gazette for publicising in advance this event, which benefits all the principal national legal charities (the Solicitors Benevolent Association, the Barristers Benevolent Association, the Institute of Barristers Clerks, the Institute of Legal Executives Benevolent Fund, United Law Clerks Society and LawCare).
The nearly 2,000 guests who attended will, I am sure, confirm that it was a very enjoyable evening and we are also most grateful to the principal sponsor, the St Paul International Insurance Company and to generous donations from other firms and organisations including legal stationers Guilbert and News International.
Early indications are that more than £25,000 will have been raised to distribute to the participating charities.
