The Law Society has published a new guide to good practice in public law Children Act Proceedings.
The book has been prepared by members of the Society's children law sub-committee of the family law committee.
It was assisted by the Solicitors Family Law Association, the Association of Lawyers for Children, the Child Care Law Joint Liaison Group, CAFCASS, the Department for Constitutional Affairs and the Legal Services Commission.
It has also received the endorsement of the President of the Family Division.
Copies have been distributed free of charge to every member of the Law Society's children panel and every partner, senior partner, sole practitioner, and in-house solicitor registered with the Society as practising family law.
Additional copies of the guide will be available for sale from the Law Society and legal bookshops.
The guidance will also be available to view and download by the end of March at www.lawsociety.org.uk (click on the family law specialism).
