Civil matters reference groups
The Law Society's civil litigation committee is setting up a series of reference groups for civil matters to widen its access to specialist knowledge within the civil litigation field. These groups will operate as a support network for the committee and will be called on when an issue relating to that area of specialism becomes high profile.
This may be for a number of reasons including an announcement by the government or the publication of a consultation document or green paper. The reference groups will not have regular meetings but will be called on to meet or to liaise by post or e-mail in response to a single issue.
Therefore, the time commitment is likely to be significantly less than that required for membership of standing committees although members will be expected to give a commitment to respond when required. The civil litigation committee is setting up the following reference groups:l Multi-party actionsl Clinical negligencel Defamationl Debt recoveryl Enforcementl Cross border and international issuesThose interested in membership should send a CV with a covering letter to Anna Rowland, Policy Adviser for Civil Litigation, The Law Society, 113 Chancery Lane, London WC2A 1PL, DX 56 Lond/Chancery Ln.
Please indicate the group in which you are interested.
