Clyde & Co links up with Belgrade pair in fresh interest

City firm Clyde & Co has forged an association with two Belgrade-based Yugoslav lawyers as interest in Yugoslavia steps up.The firm is joining forces with commercial law specialists Radoje Stefanovic and Miodrag Trajkovic.Mr Stefanovic was a politician during the 1980s, while Professor Trajkovic is an academic, arbitrator, and former Yugoslav ambassador.

John Whittaker, the Clyde & Co partner responsible for its overseas offices, said the firm was involved in the region during the Milosevic era, when it advised on the regulatory framework for United Nations sanctions, and that the association would 'sit well with the firm's activities in the Balkans, Russia and Greece'.CMS Strommer Reich-Rohrwig Karasek Hainz - part of City firm Cameron McKenna's CMS network - opened in Belgrade recently, and former Eversheds and Linklaters partner Mark Harrison set up the first foreign firm there in 1998.
