Cooking up the American dream
People across the US are shortly to be faced by the unorthodox sight of an employment solicitor whipping up roast beef and Yorkshire pudding in their backyards.
In one of the more unusual charity efforts Obiter has come across, Andrew Yendole, of Birmingham firm The Wilkes Partnership, is shortly to drive across the US with a friend; the trip should take 21 days and on the way they hope to complete 21 charitable or community activities.
'Our plan is to raise money on the drive by participating in fundraising activities with local Rotoract and Rotary clubs,' Mr Yendole tells us.
'We thought we would stage English theme evenings and give our hosts roast beef and Yorkshire Pudding to provide an authentic taste of England and encourage them to dig deep.' Let's hope that unlike in the picture (right) where he's with a 1955 Ford Mercury Monteray, he leaves the suit behind or he may just scare them off.
And the hat too, perhaps.
