Rubbish deal: South-west firm Bevan Brittan has been appointed as joint legal adviser with Ireland's Arthur Cox on one of the UK's biggest public-private partnership waste deals. It will advise Arc 21 (formerly the Eastern Region Waste Management Group) - a partnership of 11 district councils in Northern Ireland - on procuring the treatment and disposal of residual waste.
Auntie's deal: City firm Field Fisher Waterhouse advised BBC Legal on the sale of the Outside Broadcasts division of the BBC's wholly owned commercial subsidiary, BBC Resources, to Satellite Information Services. City firm Olswang acted for the buyer.
Divine deal: City firm Speechly Bircham advised Ecclesiastical Insurance Office on its purchase of insurance brokerage, South Essex Insurance Brokers, advised by Newbury firm Horsey Lightly.
Leisurely deal: Birmingham's Wragge & Co advised Stafford Borough Council on a deal with Trent City Securities, advised by north-west firms DWF and Cobbetts, to develop a £15 million leisure centre.
Educational deal: Newcastle's Dickinson Dees advised Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council on all aspects of a £150 million Building Schools for the Future project that will include the building and renovation of 16 schools across the borough.
Rapid deal: Bristol's TLT advised Kemble-based shelving and storage business, Rapid Racking, on its sale to French firm Manutan International, advised by magic circle firm Linklaters.
Eye-catching deal: Cobbetts in Leeds advised laser eye surgery specialist Ultralase on its acquisition of Belfast-based vision correction service, Allclear Clinic, from the Quality Healthcare Group. Dublin firm BCM Hanby Wallace acted for Quality Healthcare and Belfast firm Mills Selig advised Ultralase.
