Vitamins deal:
National firm Pinsent Masons advised vitamins and supplements provider NeutraHealth on the disposal of its over-the-counter medicines for £6.2m, to fund its £6.4m acquisition of Perrigo UK, which manufactures and packages vitamins, minerals, supplements, and licensed medicines. Perrigo UK, advised by City firm Lovells, has been renamed Brunel Healthcare.
Metrolink deal:
Manchester firm Pannone advised Greater Manchester Passenger Transport Executive on its appointment of M-Pact Thales consortium to design, build and maintain three new Metrolink extensions as part of a £575m project. M-Pact Thales was advised by HBJ Gateley Wareing’s Birmingham office.
Radiotherapy deal:
Beachcroft advised private hospital provider Spire Healthcare on its joint venture with CancerPartners UK, advised by City firm Trowers & Hamlins, to establish specialist radiotherapy facilities at its Leeds, Birmingham and Portsmouth hospitals – the first time such facilities have appeared outside London.
Biofuel deal:
Magic circle firm Linklaters advised Tereos on the financing of the largest wheat-based bioethanol production unit in Europe, based in Normandy. The 300,000m3 of ethanol produced by the facility will be used as biofuel.
Listing deal:
City firm Nabarro advised John East & Partners on the AIM listing of the £60m Crystal Amber Fund, a closed-ended Guernsey activist investment fund. City firm Norton Rose acted for Crystal Amber, with Carey Olsen as Guernsey adviser.
Acquisition:
City firm Memery Crystal advised catering firm Gategroup – formerly know as Gate Gourmet – on its acquisition of a majority stake in Regional Handling, which provides ground handling and catering services at two airports, for an undisclosed sum. Regional Handling was advised by national firm Eversheds.
