DLA rules out links as police probe money launderingCity firm DLA this week said that no other lawyers were working on the same matter as former partner Mark Landale, who is being investigated by the City of London Police in relation to a money laundering probe.

Mr Landale, who left the firm in 1998, is also under investigation by the Office for the Supervision of Solicitors, which suspended his practising certificate in March 1999.

DLA partner David Hughes said: 'At the time Mr Landale decided to leave, he acknowledged there was a problem on one of the matters he was handling at the firm, but the firm had no knowledge that any issue of money laundering was concerned, and Mr Landale did not acknowledge any such problem.

No other partner or fee earner was involved in the matter which Mr Landale was handling.

He had sole responsibility for the matter.' Jeremy Fleming
