I am not sure that it is reasonable for Judge Collins to solicit or expect the sympathy of the profession to the plight of the courts (see [2004] Gazette, 7 May, 15).
I wonder if there are many judges who would extend kindly discretion in favour of solicitors who asked for latitude in meeting the court's timetable on the grounds that their firm was under-resourced.
