Double takeover bolsters surging media practices
Media law has seen a sudden consolidation with two takeovers in London announced in the last week.
Eatons' senior partner Michael Eaton joins as a consultant, while four of his partners will swell Mishcon de Reya has taken in six-partner music and television firm Eatons.
Mishcons' joint managing partner Kevin Gold said the merger gave his firm a 'more balanced converging media business'.
He added: 'We needed to add strength to our transactional media practice.'

The final Eatons partner is on maternity leave.
The merged firm will operate under the Mishcons name.
Westminster firm Lewis Silkin, known for its advertising work, has acquired the practice of publishing firm Geoffrey Davies.
Mr Davies, who joins the firm as a partner with his partner, Simon Entwhistle, said: 'The success of our practice demanded greater levels of client support than could be provided by a two-man firm, which prompted the decision to seek a merger.'
