Edge partners spurn Hammonds merger to launch rival firm

Top lawyers from Edge Ellison's former Leicester office have rejected the newly-merged Hammond Suddards Edge's offer of employment in Birmingham, and set up a firm in the city called Bradshaw Hollingsworth.

Robin Bradshaw, former head of the employment department, former head of litigation Fred Hannor, and litigation associate Greg Hollingsworth have all spurned offers by Hammond Suddards Edge to move to Birmingham in favour of staying put.

Former Edge conveyancer Tina Billett also joins the new partnership.

Edge Ellison's Leicester partners and assistants were offered transfers to Birmingham following the announcement that the Leicester office will not be retained byHammond Suddards Edge.

Mr Hollingsworth said: 'The Leicester office was the most profitable of Edge Ellison's three offices...

We felt there were too many reasons to stay in Leicester.'
