BIDs 3,000 deaf members in the region will be referred to C&L for legal advice in respect of employment tribunal claims under the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 regardless of whether they are applicants or respondents.C&L employment head Rhod Griffiths said his firm had a long-standing relationship with BID and other deaf organisations.
He added that the firm had an ongoing training course to teach staff sign language.Mr Griffiths said: My department is handling an increasing number of discrimination claims for both applicants and respondents in various tribunal centres throughout the UK, and this area of the law has become highly specialised.
The service will be launched this week.
