Firm goes live on air

Newbury firm Gardner Leader has become the first in the Thames Valley area to embark on a television advertising campaign to boost its personal injury practice.Four adverts have been made so far, to be shown on local Meridian television during November, featuring re-enactments of accidents and Gardner Leader staff talking about possible compensation packages.Partner David Goldsmith, said: 'We have been advertising our personal injury department in local newspapers for quite some time now, and we decided to move into television to reach a broader audience.'He said the firm had considered advertising on radio, but 'were not convinced that radio was the best medium for promoting personal injury work'.

Meridian Television offered the firm an undisclosed financial package which included the production costs of the adverts and a number of advertising slots.Mr Goldsmith said the firm was anticipating a substantial response to the adverts.

Last year, Hertfordshire firm Underwoods spent 350,000 on a similar local television campaign, and attracted enough business to make them worthwhile.Victoria MacCallum
