Established law firms within the bricks-and-mortar sector, eager for a glimpse of how this newly-expanded kid on the block intends to position itself in the market, would not be reassured to see that the focus of attention for the soire was the shark-tank.
Guests were invited to pick a lawyer to throw to the sharks, by placing business cards in a ballot box.
There were no problems with low-turnout.
After a champagne and cheese-straw feeding frenzy, head of construction Duncan Salmon announced the winner to guests, who were by now circling ominously.
It was, of course, him.
Which might explain why, instead of being fed to the sharks, he instead donned a tropical fish-head hat (see below).
No-one complained.
Being king-shark obviously lends an air of authority.
