The Law Society Gazette is the 110-year-old weekly professional news magazine of the Law Society of England and Wales. The Gazette established an editorial board in 2010 to help review the content and direction of the journal with reference to the editorial policy as mandated by the Law Society.

The board wishes to appoint two solicitors as board members. Candidates should neither be employed by the Law Society nor involved in its day-to-day work in a representative capacity. They will be expected to attend three to four board meetings a year in London and offer an external perspective on the publication. These posts are unpaid, however all reasonable receipted travel expenses will be reimbursed.

Applicants must demonstrate an understanding of media matters, be regular and avid readers of the Gazette plus be able and prepared to represent the Gazette’s entire readership.

To apply please send a short covering letter outlining why you believe you should be selected along with a brief resume.

Applications must be received no later than Thursday, 31 October 2013 and should be emailed for the attention of Julie Archer, executive support officer to julie.archer@lawsociety.org.uk.

Interviews will be held in the week commencing 11 November 2013.
