Geldof is the knight with shining prizes: Sir Bob Geldof is many things to many people.
For some he is the man who turned punk into pop; for others he single-handedly raised awareness about drought and starvation in Africa; and for the Solicitors Pro Bono Group last week, he was the man handing out the prizes for its Student Pro Bono Challenge.
Pictured (left to right below) with the icon who embraced grunge well before Kurt Cobain was out of short trousers are three of the winning team from Leicester University: Zoe Aarons, Clare Costello and Sarah Atherton.
The missing team member is Danielle Senter.
The evening was highly entertaining, with Bob Nightingale of the Law Centres Federation telling the guests that 'the difference between me and the other Bob speaking tonight is that no minister of state has ever asked me for my autograph.
Cool it wasn't, sweet it was.' The reference was to a blushing Harriet Harman QC, the Solicitor-General, who had quietly passed Sir Bob a pen and paper.
