Good news in Gujarat Nearly 11 years ago, east London-based Abdul Hafezi appealed in these pages for help from fellow solicitors to build an extension to a school in the village where he was born in Gujarat, India.

Such was the excellent response that he was able to have built a four-roomed building which has been used as a primary school since 1993.

Mr Hafezi has been in contact again to report that the school survived the recent earthquake and that he has launched a fresh appeal to repair damaged homes and build new homes in the area.
