Bobbie Cheema-Grubb QC was sworn in last week as a High Court judge. She is the first Asian woman to sit on the High Court bench and replaces Mr Justice Kenneth Parker, who is retiring.

Cheema-Grubb was called to the bar in 1989 and took silk in 2013. She was appointed as a recorder in 2007. As a barrister her practice has ranged from corporate fraud to high-profile homicide and cold case reviews, to financial, medical and other regulation.

She also has a special interest in scientific developments in criminal justice.
