A review of this weeks more notable moves.

Private PracticePartnershipHaving lost two partners last week, City firm Paisner & Co has moved fast to replenish its numbers.

IT lawyer Amanda Lewis joins from Berwin Leighton, where she headed the outsourcing team, while Moira Protani comes from SJ Berwin, where she set up the charities group.

City firm Vizard Oldham has a new partner, healthcare litigation specialist Frances Clift.

She comes from Capsticks, in south London, where she was also a partner.Northern firm Addleshaw Booth & Co has appointed John Hiscock, the sixth partner-level appointment to its London office this year.

He was previously an associate at City firm Dechert.

Peter Talibert, head of the employment group at Barnett Alexander Chart, is joining Norton Rose as a partner.

Former Theodore Goddard partner and litigation specialist Peter Laskey has moved to Amhurst Brown Colombotti as a partner.

US-qualified lawyer Norwood Beveridge has moved from New York firm Davis Polk & Wardwell to Lovells, where he becomes a partner in the capital markets team.

Going to a US firm is IT and e-commerce specialist Barry Fishley, who has joined Weil Gotshal & Manges as a partner.

He moves from Field Fisher Waterhouse.

Outside of London, Hull firm Andrew M Jackson & Co has a new management team.

Head of corporate Martin Whitehead and Silas Taylor, who heads the shipping and finance department, have been appointed joint senior partners.

In the north-east, litigation lawyer Tim Wallis is the new senior partner and Stephen Crute the new managing partner at 21-partner firm Crutes.

A shake-up has seen the creation of a new management board.

Swansea firm John Collins & Partners has made up five associates to partner:l Nichola Evans (mortgage possessions);l Karen Hipkin (property);l Gareth Llewellyn-Williams (corporate recovery);l Lynne Morgan (personal injury); andl Amanda Rees (debt recovery).Georges Dirani, formerly a partner at Linklaters & Alliance in Paris, moves to Herbert Smith's Paris office as a partner to head the banking team.

Further afield, energy lawyer Larry George has moved from US firm Squire Sanders & Dempsey's Moscow office to Lovells' office in the same city.

He is to head the Russia and CIS energy practice.

Litigation lawyer Cameron Scott has joined Allen & Overy's Hong Kong office.

He moves from the Hong Kong office of Barlow Lyde & Gilbert.

Private PracticeAssociates/assistantsIn the City, employment lawyer Jo Plumstead has left Clyde & Co for Kennedys.

Joining Clyde & Co is Deung Rong Lee, who is qualified in both Korea and England and Wales.

He will work in the shipping team.

Advertising and marketing specialist Solvej Biddle has moved from Lawrence Graham to Theodore Goddard.

Moving outside London, employment specialist Elaine Gale has joined the Swindon office of Thames valley firm Charles Lucas & Marshall.

Buckinghamshire-based Moorcrofts has recruited IT specialist Simon Deans, who joins from BP Collins, and Louise Harris, an employment lawyer who moves from Machins in Luton.

Sunita Kaushal is joining the company and commercial team at Peterborough firm Greenwoods from Eversheds.

Newly-qualified Alice Dodd has joined the employment team at Cheltenham firm Rickerby Watterson.

Sheffield firm Taylor & Emmet has appointed Jon Curtis, previously a trainee at Irwin Mitchell, to its employment department.

Manchester firm Rowlands has added two assistant solicitors: housing specialist Robert Morris, who joins from Anthony Hodari & Co, and newly-qualified Lynne Mitchell, who will handle employment cases.

OtherFormer sole practitioner and software developer Nick Lightbody has joined Somerset firm Adrian Stables as a consultant.

Cambridge firm Mills & Reeve has brought in family law barrister Jane Bridge as its in-house counsel.

Before joining the firm, she wrote family law textbooks and did mediation work on an independent basis.

Carol Fraser, also a barrister, has moved to Westminster firm Campbell Hooper from Fox & Associates, also in London.

Ms Fraser, the fifth senior-level appointment in the past six months at Campbell Hooper, joins the company and commercial department.

Patent attorney Tim Rickard, formerly a partner with patent agents Brookes & Martin, has joined London law firm Moon Beever.

Nicholas Narraway has left Eversheds, where he was a partner in the corporate group, to become legal director for two of Premier Asset Management's subsidiary companies.

CorrectionRosanna Cooper, who has joined London firm Fairmays, was neither a partner nor head of IP/IT at Barlow Lyde & Gilbert (see [2000] Gazette, 21 September, 12).
