The government has unleashed upon us its weapons against money laundering (WML), adding an additional layer of bureaucracy into the house-moving process - which it professes to wish to streamline.

I have been in practice for about 20 years and have handled hundreds, if not thousands, of property transactions.

I have yet to find one which involved money laundering.

Have I been fortunate, or could it be that WML have been launched against a target as elusive or illusory as WMD in Iraq?
