In top gear for red-hot road rallyJonathan Lux, the adventurous Ince & Co partner, has hit the road once more.
Mr Lux seems to like nothing more than jetting off to remote locations, jumping in his Porsche 911 Targa, and driving like a maniac for days, all in the admirable cause of raising money for the International Bar Association's Human Rights Institute.
His most recent race was La Aventura IV, a 1,000-mile rally around Argentina and Chile.
Only 170 of the starting 250 classic cars stayed the course and Mr Lux reports that 'the Andes were strewn with the wreckage of some very expensive machinery', but not his 1974 model, (pictured above) we are glad to report.
Hospitality everywhere he went, with lunches of sheep roasting on spits and evening dances; it sounds a pleasant experience - certainly a step up from the usual day-to-day life of the City lawyer.
While Mr Lux is on the look-out for other races, he says: 'It is difficult to foresee such an intoxicating mix of warm-blooded races, superb food, spectacular accommodation and breathtaking scenery as La Aventura IV ever occurring again.' It's a tough life on the road.
