City giant Linklaters has picked up leading US hotel and gaming resort operator MGM Mirage as a major new client, acting on its 270 million cash bid for Wembley plc - the company's first major acquisition in the UK.

Epalan, the life sciences consultancy launched late last year by west country firm Bevan Ashford, has won its first major contract - the Department of Health in Canada has instructed Epalan to develop a risk classification tool to allow for the assessment of risks and benefits associated with existing and emerging reproductive technologies in support of pending legislation.
