Law firms urged to aid terrorist-hit families

Law firms in England and Wales are this week being urged to make donations to help the families affected by last week's terrorist attacks in the US.More than 5,000 people were killed when hijacked planes crashed in New York, Washington DC, and near Pittsburgh.

The Law Society has worked with the American Red Cross to devise the best way for UK-based firms help.

Law Society president David McIntosh explained: 'Having spoken to our colleagues in the legal profession and experiencing the sense of loss and helplessness people have felt since last Tuesday, the Society approached the British Red Cross who advised that donations to the American Red Cross should be made in several ways.'
