Publication of the final Legal Education and Training Review (LETR) report, originally due at the end of last year, is now not expected until May, the Gazette has learned.

The LETR report, commissioned by the Bar Standards Board, ILEX Professional Standards and the Solicitors Regulation Authority in 2011, heralds potentially the biggest shake-up of legal education in decades.

However the review team admitted last month that the ‘weight of evidence’ and ‘the importance and complexity of the review’ were delaying publication.
