Life on the edge

Who says solicitors are stay-at-home, risk-averse sorts? John Egan of Bedford firm Woodfine Batcheldor is living proof that the profession has bottle.

Mr Egan had been scheduled to take part in a charity trek through Tibet in aid of Mencap, starting last week, but the royal deaths in Nepal meant the trekkers could not fly into Kathmandu as planned.

So instead, the hardy travellers have flown to Delhi and travelled up into the ever-so-much-safer region of Kashmir instead, which borders Nepal.

To reward his bravery/foolhardiness, send cheques to 'John Egan, Trek Tibet account' at Woodfines, DX 5619 Bedford.
