Hill Dickinson has announced a merger with fellow Liverpool law firm Bullivant Jones to create an 111-partner practice which the firms say will be the largest in the north-west.

Bullivant Jones is a largely commercial property practice with 14 partners and a forecast turnover of £5.75 million this year; 97-partner Hill Dickinson's turnover is £33 million.

Bullivant Jones also offers experience of property litigation, private client, employment and retail work.

Hill Dickinson has a stated strategy of becoming the leading commercial law firm in the north-west.

A statement said: 'Together the merged firm will have the potential to dominate the legal market-place in Liverpool, to play a leading role in the ongoing development of Liverpool over the next five years, and to compete throughout the north-west and nationally.'
