Manchester firm working rich seam in Australia mining
A niche Manchester firm is leading the way in work for Australian mining firms that want a listing on the Alternative Investment Market (AIM).Fox Brooks Marshall has established itself as a specialist in this area, and partner Andrew Wright will be in Sydney this month to address an AIM conference that his firm is part-sponsoring.
AIM head Simon Brickles is the keynote speaker.Mr Wright said: 'Australian companies find the London market very attractive and the introduction of the Public Offers of Securities Regulations in 1995 made the process of getting listed far more complex.
I was alerted to the size of the market by a stockbroker friend of mine and we did our first rights issue in 1995.' He added: 'The potential for work in this area has been noted though and we find that big City firms try to undercut us.'Andrew Towler
