Masons scoops advert awardCity firm Masons has beaten strong competition from the Arts Council and KPMG Consulting to seize top prize for its 'innovative' advertising campaign, which ran last year.The award came as part of the Reed Business Information's recruitment advertisement awards sponsored by the Royal Bank of Scotland.Alison Povell, Masons' marketing director, said the campaign was aimed at enhancing the firm's profile by 'raising awareness of its industry focus'.

The firm provides a range of services specifically to the IT, construction and engineering, energy and infrastructure sectors.The theme of the campaign - which followed a major rebranding unveiled last May - was 'more than you might imagine'.

Ms Povell explained: 'We wanted to hammer home our network of offices, the range of work we were involved in and the type and quality of our clients.'Ms Povell said the response to the second stage of the campaign - aimed at recruitment - was very positive.

'It has been a very good start and we are very pleased with the feedback from graduates because competition is so tough in the marketplace,' she added.The firm worked with advertising agency GMBM and legal recruitment consultants EJ Legal on the campaign, which the judges said used 'cleverly constructed, bold imagery that is innovative and intriguing'.Last year the firm was also awarded best Web site in the Insider's Guide to e-commerce for its e-business site, www.outlaw.comSue Allen
