Mastering Litigation I read with interest John Fisher's comment (see [2001] Gazette, 14 June, 15) on the perceived failures of litigation solicitors to recognise their clients' business concerns.
The requirements of business (and other) clients for a properly costed and risk assessed approach to litigation was recognised by Nottingham Law School several years ago.
As a result, we developed the LLM in advanced litigation, which we believe to be unique.
The LLM applies project management techniques familiar to business clients to the litigation process taught through practical case-based exercises.
This approach is based on risk assessment, risk management and costings, both at the outset and at each stage of the litigation process.
The proper management of litigation has never been easy.
The good news is that litigators are working to do it better.
