Media AdviceSolicitors who read your recent article on dealing with the media (see [20001] Gazette, 25 January, 26) may be interested to know that the Law Society press office provides an emergency media advice service to the profession, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

If you have a client whose case suddenly hits the headlines, a press officer can give immediate advice.

The duty press officer can be reached on 07659 128500 (for out-of-hours emergency advice only).The press office also stages regular media training courses tailored specifically for solicitors who have to represent their clients in the media.

The course carries six-and-a-half CPD points.
