Clifford Chance has swooped on Andersen Legal's Dutch law firm Wouters Advocaten & Notarissen to recruit banking and securities partner Ton Nederveen in Amsterdam.

In Spain, it has recruited two new corporate partners: Jos Mara Fernndez Daza and Alberto Manzanares join with staff from their own practices.

City rival Allen & Overy has hired New York-qualified securitisation partner Kenneth Aboud from US firm Orrick Herrington for its Singapore office and Franco Vigliano and Catia Tomasetti from Chiomenti Studio Legale for its Milan office.To hit back on behalf of US firms, the Moscow office of US firm White & Case has hired a Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer partner, Marc Polonsky, to advise on mergers and acquisitions, and finance.Back in London, Berrymans Lace Mawer's head of insurance and reinsurance and executive partner David Wilkinson is leaving for US firm LeBoeuf Lamb Greene & MacRae's London office.Also leaving Berrymans Lace Mawer are insurance partners Michael Rensha, Kathryn Oldfield and Stephen Walsh.

They are joining London and Croydon insurance litigation firm Badhams, which has also promoted Claire Mulligan and Stephen Evans to partner.

Elsewhere in the City, Richards Butler has made Adam Morgan managing partner of the shipping group, taking over from Lindsay East.

Eversheds has replaced its head of commercial.

Roger Thomas has retired, and Jonathan Guest takes his place.Simmons & Simmons partner Tom Keevil is leaving the partnership at the end of this year to join his client, Gallaher Group as senior legal adviser.Theodore Goddard has promoted two lawyers to the partnership.

Jonathan Blair has become a partner in the digital convergence team and Janene Waudby in corporate finance.US firm McDermott Will & Emery has had top-level reshuffle.

Head of London litigation John Reynolds has taken over from William Charnley as London managing partner.

Mr Charnley takes the newly created senior partner position.London firm Ross & Craig has recruited Simpson Miller partner Gill Sage to head its growing employment department.Knightsbridge firm Pettman Smith has taken commercial property solicitor Paul Dutch as a partner from west end practice Collins Benson Goldhill.Thames Valley practice Charles Lucas & Marshall is getting a new head of commercial property.

Hugh Ellins and Malcolm Poynter are stepping down to make room for David Thomas.Moving up north, Manchester firm Chaffe Street has appointed Awen Wright as a partner in its commercial property department from Halliwell Landau.Cheshire-based medical negligence practice Alexander Harris has made Lindsay Wise a partner.North-east firm Crutes has appointed a new commercial litigation partner, Paul Forster, from Carlisle-based Burnetts.

Essex practice Peter Richbell & Co has recruited personal injury assistant Wendy Robinson from Margary & Miller.

Stephen Hodgson of Humberside Police is the new chairman, Gareth Madge of South Wales Police the secretary and former chairman John Kilbey of West Midlands Police has taken over as treasurer.
