She joins from title insurer First Title.QXL Ricardo, a pan-European on-line auction community, has appointed Tom Parkinson as general counsel.

He joins from MediaKey, where he was head of legal, company secretary and a board director.

OTHERSShankari Chandran, an Australian-qualified corporate lawyer at Allen & Overy, has left fee-earning work to take over as the firm's pro bono and community affairs officer from Sophie Forsyth, who has decided not to return after maternity leave.LawBook Consulting, the management consultancy and training company founded by Law Society council member Paul Gilbert - former chairman of the Commerce & Industry Group - has appointed Geoffrey Williams as its first non-executive chairman.
