There is a litigation and finance theme to appointments in London this week.

City firm Clyde & Co leads the way with three new partners: James Varanese joins the projects and finance group from US firm Coudert Brothers, while Tim Brymer moves from CMS Cameron McKenna to head the international aviation and aerospace team.

Moving with him are 'partner candidate' Gareth Lewis and assistant Alex Stovold.

The aviation team also sees the arrival of Gavin Hill, previously at Clifford Chance, as a partner.

A new head of commercial litigation for Clerkenwell firm Rooks Rider: Paul Clements joins as a partner from RadcliffesLeBrasseur.

Moon Beever promotes insolvency and corporate recovery specialist James Latham to partner.

Two senior consultants join legal management consultancy Jomati: John Holmes, until recently managing partner of Clifford Chance in Dubai, and John Angel, visiting professorial fellow at the Institute of Computer and Communications Law, Queen Mary University of London.

Melissa Hardee, formerly both a partner at City firm CMS Cameron McKenna and chairwoman of the Legal Education and Training Group, has become director of the legal practice course at the Inns of Court School of Law.
