Leon BraunsteinOn 27 February 2001, the compliance and supervision committee of the Law Society passed a resolution to intervene in the practice of the above-named solicitor, who practised at 6 Leeward House, Plantation Wharf, London SW11 3TX and 119/120 Roebuck House, Palace Street, Victoria, London SW1E 5BE, under the firm name of Braunstein & Co.

Mr N Coates of Messrs Russell-Cooke Potter & Chapman of 2 Putney Hill, Putney, London, tel: 0208 789 9111, has been appointed to act as the Law Society's agent.Mr Coates has not been able to obtain possession of any of the practice files of Braunstein & Co, as Mr Braunstein has indicated his intention to appeal.

He has not yet commenced proceedings in the High Court challenging the committee's decision as required under the Solicitors Act 1974 (as amended).Mr Braunstein is currently employed by the International Cotton Company plc at 46 Berkeley Square, Mayfair, London W1X 5DB.

It is believed that Mr Braunstein is out of the jurisdiction.

Gary CarterOn 21 May 2001, the compliance and supervision committee of the Law Society resolved to intervene in the practice of Gary Carter, who practised at 76 Kew Road, Richmond, Surrey TW9 2PQ, under the firm name of Price Carter.Mr Nigel Coates of Messrs Russell-Cooke Potter & Chapman of 2 Putney Hill, Putney, London SW15 6AB tel: 0208 789 9111, has been appointed to act as the Law Society's agent and he took possession of all Price Carter practice papers on 24 May 2001.

Stephanie Judith BeardsmoreOn 21 May 2001, the Law Society intervened in the practice of the above-named solicitor, who practised at 76 Norton Road, Stockton-on-Tees, Cleveland, under the firm name of Beardsmore & Co.Ms R Young of Messrs Jacksons, Innovations House, Yarm Road, Stockton-on-Tees, Cleveland, DX 715796, tel: 01642 643643 has been appointed to act as the Law Society's agent.

Peter William Spencer - practising as Silver SpencerOn 21 May 2001, the compliance and supervision committee of the Law Society resolved to intervene in the practice of Silver Spencer at 171 Malden Road, London NW5 4HT.

The date of the actual intervention is 24 May 2001.
