Solicitors fly out to Australia this month for the fifth staging of the Lawyers’ Cricket World Cup. Captain and Allen & Overy senior associate Jonathan Garforth (pictured left, with barristers’ captain Quinton Newcomb) will lead a 16-man squad from 15 firms who will face Australia and defending champions Pakistan in the group stage. The final will be staged at Brisbane’s famous Gabba ground. The solicitors have appeared in the world cup once before, in 2009. However, they have a strong recent record, beating the barristers’ team in each of the last four seasons.
